About Springfield Metro Chapter

Springfield Metro Chapter (SMC) chartered in January 2007 with 33 members, and the chapter has grown substantially in the 2 1/2 years of its existence.  SMC has grown not only in numbers but in the programs and services we offer to our members.  Springfield Metro Chapter (SMC) offers great educational programs, conducts meetings face-to-face and virtually, has a formal mentoring program and participates in many community projects as a committed community partner in the Springfield Metro area of Southwest Missouri.

Following the belief that "Mighty Oaks from small acorns grow," SMC has become an award winning chapter at Division and International levels and continues to strive to achieve excellence in programming, community service, and to provide services such as mentoring and preparation for certification exams.  Springfield Metro's leadership team is working to put into place all of the programs for the 2009/2010 year as well as other tools for each SMC member to continue as, or to become, a "Member of Excellence" and the chapter to continue to be a "Chapter of Excellence"  in the parent organization's Pathways to Excellence program.  These programs are posted on the chapter website.

Springfield Metro Chapter (SMC) is a 2008/2009 Chapter of Excellence, and several of our members have attained the Member of Excellence status.  In order to assist SMC and our members to retain this Excellence status, the Pathways to Excellence information will be posted for the convenience of our SMC members.  SMC will also post all of our minutes and other pertinent chapter information for our members.  We strive to create an atmosphere where information is at the fingertips of our members and questions/comments are always encouraged so that our members are fully informed and able to grow into the leadership roles that will assist SMC and assist the members in their careers.

The SMC 2008/2009 Annual Report has been sent out to our members and others in our Division.  Please click here to check out some of what SMC was doing during the 2008/2009 year!  We hope you enjoy reading our 2008/2009 Annual Report, and if you have any questions please contact Angel King (angel.king@alz.org)  or Colleen Neill CPS/CAP (colleenneill@yahoo.com).

Springfield Metro Chapter IAAP  upholds all of the values listed by the parent organization.  Please check out the rest of our website to discover the many benefits an SMC member enjoys for just $5 chapter dues and $6 division dues (in addition to the International Dues).  For more information contact Angelita Carano-King, SMC President, Colleen Neill CPS/CAP, SMC Parliamentary Advisor; or Terrie Thorpe, SMC Membership Committee Chair.  We hope to hear from you soon.
